Buffalo Mozzarella & Paestum

We had another long drive today to get from Matera to Positano. We stopped for lunch at a farm/dairy with a herd of water buffalo. They are most famous for their buffalo milk mozzarella. Before lunch we visited the buffalos. The owners want to keep their buffalos happy so they play Mozart for them and have a giant massage machine available for them to use. We had an excellent lunch of spinach and ricotta crepes, mozzarella with tomatoes and greens from the garden, buffalo milk yogurt, and multiple flavors of gelato.

After lunch we moved on to Paestum. Paestum was a major Greek city and is famous for the three ancient Greek Doric temples, dating from about 600 to 450 BC.

This is the Temple of Athena.

This is the first Temple of Hera.

This is the second temple of Hera.

This area was used as a political "soapbox".

And these are just some cute bits from the museum.
