Anacapri

This morning we took a boat from Sorrento to the island of Capri. We landed in the town of Capri and immediately took a taxi up to a plateau above the town called Anacapri. We then took a chairlift up 1932 foot (589 meter) high Monte Solaro for picturesque views of the south-facing coast.

The town of Anacapri is very charming with lots of interesting things to see such as the Casa Rossa, built by an American Civil War veteran.

There are lots of picturesque walkways, benches, gardens, and restaurants.

This is the interior of the Santa Sophia church.

We had a special dinner this evening at the family home of some friends of our guide, Luigi and Teresa.

The dessert was delicious and very unusual; it was cantaloupe cake.
