Rapperswil, Switzerland

Today we took a lovely leisurely 60 minute boat ride on Lake Zurich from Horgen to Rapperswil. Lunch was available on board and the food was surprisingly good.

In Rapperswil we visited the Stadtpfarrkirche St. Johann (Saint John's parish church) which has an interesting set of stairs leading to it

and Liebfrauenkapelle (St. Mary's chappel), built in 1489, which is beautifully painted inside.

The church is located next to Rapperswil Castle which unfortunately was closed due to a wedding.

For dinner we went to a beautiful restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed a traditional Swiss wine and cheese fondue. It has been snowing all day and there is 5-6 inches of snow on the ground now. It made the lights decorating the restaurant look even more magical.

Tomorrow we will be traveling on the Bernina Express through the alps!!!
