Lucerne, Switzerland

I love Lucerne!

It has two beautiful very old covered bridges, frescoed facades on the buildings in the old town, and a large part of the old medieval rampart walls.

One of the bridges, the Kapellbrücke, is the oldest wooden covered bridge in Europe as well as the world's oldest surviving truss bridge. It was originally built in 1333 and features unique triangular paintings in the roof.

Old town Lucerne has gorgeous painted buildings everywhere.

And the Musegg wall, the medieval city wall built in 1386, is almost entirely intact. You can get into three of the nine towers (unfortunately only in the summer) and walk along a portion of the wall.

I could easily spend a week in this beautiful city.
