The town of Launceston was our destination today. We visited the museum there which had many examples of white work embroidery (which does not photograph well) plus costumes, samplers, and other embroidery.
And how about this for a lady's tennis outfit?
This is all that remains of the local castle.
And this is the town hall as seen through all that is left of one of the castle's gates.
The parish church, St Mary Magdalene, was just amazing. Built between 1511 and 1524, the entire outside is sculptured granite.
The inside was almost as fantastic.
The beautifully carved pew ends were added in 1894. I especially liked the dragons but there were also plants and animals.
On the way back to the hotel through the beautiful Cornish countryside ...
... we stopped for a delicious cream tea: scones, jam, and clotted cream. Yum!
