Iona Abbey

This is the Iona Abbey. It, the graveyard, and the nunnery date back to the 13th century (the original abbey was founded in 563).

 

 

There are two high crosses in front of the abbey. This one is known as St. John's Cross.

 

 

And this is St. Martin's Cross.

 

 

 

There were many interesting things in the abbey. Here are a few examples.

 

 

 

 

 

And it had a gorgeous cloister with more of the grave slabs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

But the most beautiful part for me was the interior of the abbey.
