Culross & St. Andrews

Our first stop today was Culross, where we visited a 16th century cottage. It was very well preserved and had been restored. The guide was excellent. The TV show Outlander was filmed in some areas of the cottage. No photos were allowed inside unfortunately.

This is part of the back garden.

We then went on to St. Andrews, the famous "Home of Golf".

This is a map of the courses with the Royal and Ancient Golf Club in the background.

Here are a few pictures of the course.

Right next to the golf courses is the beach used in the film Chariots of Fire.

We also stopped in at the ruins of St. Andrews' cathedral.

There are also ruins from St. Andrews' castle.

St. Andrews is also a university town. These are some of the school's buildings.

This appears to be a rather unusual name for a street. However wynd actualy rhymes with "kind" and is a type of close or alley.
