Troyes, France

At 7 am this morning we were on our way to France. We went via the Channel Tunnel. What an interesting experience! All vehicles using the Channel Tunnel are loaded onto a train in England which then makes the journey through the tunnel. Autos are loaded on two-storey rail cars while buses are loaded on one-storey cars. The tunnel is 31.4 miles long and the trip takes about 35 minutes. At its lowest point the tunnel is 250 feet deep.

We finally arived at our hotel in Troyes, France at 6:30 pm (we did take a few breaks along the way).

It is a very nice hotel and we were served an excellent dinner. It was once a bonnet factory and there is an old knitting machine in the lobby.

Tomorrow we will travel over the Jura Mountains to St. Croix, Switzerland, by way of Dijon, France.
