Eichstätt & Roth, Germany

Today we visited Willibaldsburg, a spur castle built around the year 1353 in Eichstätt in Upper Bavaria. It is home to the Jura Museum, a Natural History Museum that has an extensive exhibit of Jurassic fossils from the quarry of Solnhofen, including marine reptiles, pterosaurs, and one specimen of the early bird Archaeopteryx. We were given a very interesting tour.

Afterward we had a bit of time to look around the town where we found two interesting churches.

Then we moved on to Roth to see the Fabric Museum where they make wonderful trims using fascinating old machines.
