Flåm, Norway

We took a ride on the Flåm railway today.  According to norwaysbest.com:  "The Flåm Railway has been described as one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world and is one of the leading tourist attractions in Norway."  It is a 12-mile journey on a route hailed as one of the world's greatest masterpieces of engineering. The train will climb nearly 3,000 feet and pass through 20 tunnels and over numerous bridges.   The trip included a stop in Vatnahalsen Hotel for waffles.

The lower white 'ribbon' is the road.

The train stopped along the way so we could admire the Kjosfossen waterfall.

This is part of the view from our cabin while we were in Flåm.

This is what we saw when leaving Flåm.
