Lisbon, Portugal

We wandered a bit in downtown Lisbon today but most of our time was spent in the Museu National do Azulejo (ceramic tiles) which is housed in the former Convent of Madre de Dues founded in 1509.

This is a view of the Praça do Comercio (Square of Commerce) through the Arco da Rua Augusta (Rua Augusta Arch) in the downtown which was built to commemorate the city's reconstruction after the 1755 earthquake

The interior of the museum contained a lot more than azulejos.

And then there is the azulejo display.
