Today was a visit to Montacute House and the Goodhart collection of samplers. The house and grounds were beautiful.
And there was a lot of lovely furniture.

Today we were in Bristol again visiting the Georgian House to see their samplers. Here are just a few of them.

After the samplers we had some free time to explore Bristol. This is the cathedral there.

Today we were in Gloucester. Our first stop was the Museum of Life to see some of their sampler collection.
We found this amazing knocker on a church door. A docent explained it to us. On the bottom is the devil with horns and the knocker. On his back, upside down, is a woman who enjoyed her drink. Her tongue is out to get a last lick of the grapes above her before heading to hell.
The Gloucester cathedral was very impressive.

This is the tomb of King Edward II who was born 1284 and reigned 1307-1327.
