Köln/Cologne, Germany

The major attraction in Cologne is the cathedral, which is Germany's most visited landmark. Construction started in 1248 and was completed in 1880. The cathedral is the largest Gothic church in Northern Europe and has the second-tallest spires and largest façade of any church in the world. (It also had the ubiquitous scaffolding found on every church we have ever visited).

The stained glass windows are some of the most beautiful I have seen.
