and we spent most of them in the Dresden Castle. It has a beautiful courtyard but unfortunately some renovation was going on so there were a lot of vehicles and fencing blocking the views.
We climbed to the top of this tower (222 steps - about 8 stories - up a circular staircase) ...
only to have the observation deck closed as we arrived due to rain. We were able to take a few photos out of the windows.
We spent several hours in the Green Vault, a unique historic museum that contains the largest collection of treasures in Europe. Founded by Augustus the Strong in 1723, it features a variety of Treasury art from the Renaissance until the late Baroque period. Everything in the museum was absolutely stunning. Of course, photography was not permitted, but here are a few photos from the book we purchased.
