Mukilteo Quilt & Garden Tour

Last weekend we attended a joint event between two local community groups, the Mukilteo Way Garden Club and the Mukilteo Lighthouse Quilters. The Garden Club was begun in 1933 and the quilting guild in 2004. Seven private gardens were open for touring and each had numerous quilts on display. The weather was a perfect 75° (24° C). I did not take many overall garden pictures but this one will give you an idea of what my favorite garden looked like.

The plants in this garden were not only wonderful, the garden art was fantastic too!

There were some fantastic quilts on display and a large number of them were made using Kaffe Fassett fabrics which really increased the awesomeness. Kaffe Fassett (his name rhymes with 'safe asset') is an artist who is best known for his colorful designs in the decorative arts [thanks Wikipedia!]. Below are some of my favorite quilts.

One quilt had some whimsical embroidery.
